  1. WHAT SHOULD YOU PAY TO HAVE YOUR BROKEN GARAGE DOOR SPRINGS REPLACED?

When a garage door spring breaks, you should replace both springs. Springs have a certain life cycle...meaning the number of times the door goes up and down. When one spring breaks, the second will break shortly.

Garage door springs (2) and lift cables can be purchased online for about $100. Installation should take about two hours or about $200 for professional installation.

I have heard residents paying as much as $500 to $1000 to replace broken springs.

A complete new door with opener installed from local garage door companies will cost about a $1000 for the typical garage doors existing in SCA.
