Nevada Finally Gets into 21st Century Dialing

GET READY TO CHANGE THE WAY YOU DIAL YOUR PHONE CALLS

We've known about this for some time, but now is the time to get used to changing the way you make your phone calls...

...changes that will REQUIRE you to reconfigure your auto-dialing on your HOME and CELL phones.

Effective MAY 3, 2014, you will have to dial the full 10 digit code to make any connections.

Because Nevada currently has 2 area codes, (702)  & (725), they will have to be included when making all calls after the May 3rd date.

For example.....

After May 3rd, you will need to dial 702-xxx-xxxx.  (All the digits) for calls WITHIN THE STATE OF NEVADA.

When using either (702) or the (725)  area code, you do not need to dial the 1.

For long distance calls OUTSIDE (702) and (725) area codes, you WILL need to dial the NUMBER 1 PRIOR TO THE NUMBER.

After May 3rd, if you do not use the new dialing procedures...

....your calls WILL NOT BE COMPLETED and a recording will instruct you to hang up and dial again.

My suggestion....REPROGRAM YOUR PHONES NOW, the new system is currently operational, and May 3rd is here !
