Let Us Entertain You...with another Restaurant Story !

Cafe V Signs...no longer read...Cafe V

Evidently something is "up" or "gone" since all four marquees that advertise the Sun City Anthem restaurant seem to be missing the words "Cafe V".

There's the one on the corner of Hampton & Anthem Pkwy.

One is located at the side entrance of Anthem Center near the intersection of  Forest City Drive and Alexandra Drive.

The third is placed at the corner of Anthem Pkwy and Alexandra Drive.

Finally, there is the fourth sign on Hampton Road at the main entrance of Anthem Center.

Our curiosity was obviously peaked and we entered Anthem Center to see if Cafe V was open...

...and after seeing the "specials" sign in front of the place, we decided to venture into the eatery.

Yes...it was open...but...two glaring observations were made:

First...no one was there to seat anyone...there was a sign saying "Please Seat Yourself"...

and...

Second....not a soul was there who was having lunch.

When we asked "What's Up ?"...we found out that even various members of the Sun City Anthem board could not provide us answers !

So...the mystery continues...and rumor has it, we'll be authorizing payment to send these guys to find out !

Oh well...just another day in "paradise" !

Cafe V sign missing in action...

    Why????

Cafe V continues to struggle to make a go of the restaurant. No doubt...I had lunch there yesterday and only three ladies were seated at another table.

Information has it...Cafe V owner Larry Hughes is attempting to convince the SCA BOD to sublease the restaurant to another entity.

The meeting set for this week has been tight lipped by our leadership.

SCA Board Members, Jean Capillupo and Don Schramski, are currently Board Liaison to the restaurant and will be the negotiators.

My guess is.... The signs were removed by restaurant owners in anticipation of yet another agreement favoring "a place to eat lunch" for Board Members.

Take a guess how many times the lease agreement has been modified for more and more concessions to keep the restaurant alive...I have lost count...5 or more?

It will be interesting to see if and when this secret meeting details will be announced to concerned residents.

Will there be allowed any resident input or a another case of ...the BOD has all the answers?

Stand by folks...the BOD may be arranging for a sixth restaurant failure.

    5) Hughes
    6) ????

  1. Forrest,

I had to laugh at a comment elsewhere that said the signs were being changed "for Vic".

It certainly is rather strange that someone would go through the cost of changing four marquees, yet needs a loan to pay his rent and utilities...and....had to have his liability insurance reinstated after it had lapsed.

...unless of course, residents will be footing the bill for that as well.
