Coyote Problem to be Addressed
at Anthem Center Meeting

We recently received a note from of our valued reader, Renee  Rosenberg, who recently had her dog attacked by a pack of coyotes. She was able to fend off them off in order to save her dog, but sadness was the ultimate result of the attack.

States Ms. Rosenberg:

-----------------------------------------------------

To all residents of Sun City Anthem who own a dog.

A couple of days ago my dog was attacked by 3 coyotes in my own driveway in Mountain View.

I was there to fend them off; however my dog did sustain multiple lacerations, a bruised lung, and some rings on his trachea had to repaired surgically.

Sadly, my dog did not survive the attack.

My neighbor called the Wildlife Dept. and found out that this has not been announced yet, but on Feb 17th they will be holding a special meeting here at Anthem Center at 7:00pm.

All dog & cat owners are highly recommended to attend.

Apparently Sun City Anthem has  been listed as having one of the highest incidents of Coyotes in Clark county, and they are becoming more brazen.

Right off the bat we were told that you no longer should be walking your dogs around after dusk.

These coyotes are now running in packs.

It should be a very informative meeting and help us understand what we are up against.

-----------------------------------------------------

Don't allow that "family member" to be a victim.

Anthem Opinions Administration

Just to add to the coyote situation -

I live on the concord golf course and see coyotes at all times of the day.

Last week there were five coyotes in my yard at 3:30 in the afternoon.

Please be aware that they are active at all times of the day and night.

Looking forward to attending this meeting on the 17th.
    1. Linda,

I live just above the 3rd hole on the Revere course.

My wife and I have seen and heard countless numbers of howls at night and early in the morning.

That normally indicates a coyote "kill".

What I also find appalling are the number of individuals who walk their dogs...often without a leash...on the course...leaving their "residue" without ever bothering to clean it up.

A golf course is NOT a pet park.

In that respect, I think the wildlife representatives should train the coyotes to attack those thoughtless pigs....I won't refer to them as people....not their innocent dogs.
