Round
One
Goes to
The
"Machine"
By now you may have heard the following
election results.
Remove Do Not Remove
Rex
Weddle
1,282 1,658
Aletta Waterhouse
1,253 1,688
Thomas
Nissen 1,254 1,687
If we stop
now, the story would end here,
but IT DOESN'T and IT WON'T.
Those who supported the removal knew
the odds of obtaining 2,501 votes would be extremely difficult (if not
impossible) to obtain, but despite those odds, a group of "reformers" set out
to make a valiant attempt to "clean up a community" they believed was in need of
change...
...and to all those who worked day
after day, obtaining the necessary removal and General Manager "no confidence"
petitions while in many cases suffering the most cruel of
insults...
Anthem Opinions
salutes each and every one of you.
You did what few could have ever
thought possible...garnering a sufficient number of signed petitions in a short
period of time...
...with this
result:
You Forced Sun City
Anthem to Look at Itself
Did those efforts fail?
Perhaps in vote total they did, but to achieve 44% of those voting to choose removal,
that sets the stage for what's to come...
...whether that be from an Ombudsman or
Real Estate Division decision...
...and/or a message sent out to
those on the Sun City Anthem Board that many in the
community strongly disagree with the manner in which Sun City Anthem is
managed and governed.
The Removal Opponents, no matter how
celebratory they may currently be, must now face a stark
reality:
...that a populace without even being
notified a Removal election was even in progress...
...incurring constant interference on
the part of some to hinder a fair election...
... denying any form of official
rebuttal to what were more than apparent attempts to
"stonewall"...
...with so many being sent ballots that
were either not delivered or discarded due to improper
identification...
...and with nothing other than word of
mouth or community blogs...
...in excess of
1,250 unit owners voted to remove, while an
entire group of 7,144 homes sent anti-removal letters at
high expense, conjured less than
1,700.
Those of you who were active were always aware that the real objective of
the removal was to expose the deep problems that have existed in Sun City Anthem
in the past, and continue to fester with each passing
year.
...and more than at any time in this
history of our corner of the world, YOU DID JUST THAT
!
But...this is not the epilogue of the
story.
I can assure all of you, the Ombudsman
has many questions that will have to be answered as his investigation
continues.
This removal election is NOT over according to a conversation with Chavez Foger, the Ombudsman.
At the conclusion of the afternoon's
count, Chavez Foger demanded
the CPA firm hand over EVERYTHING they had in order to hold a proper and thorough
investigation regarding the complaints filed against The Sun City Anthem Board
and/or the General Manager...
...i.e. the valid and invalid petitions, all validated
ballots, and any ballots or returned envelopes the CPA firm found
invalid.
It was learned that
42 formal complaints were filed in his office by various Sun City Anthem
residents, of which he stated, 12 were "quite serious"...
...in addition to the over 200 telephone calls his office fielded from those who felt
an injustice was taking place.
We also learned that those complaints pertaining
to Nona Tobin's dismissal lead the list, with the
total number of petition nullifications against Robert Burch a strong concern as
well.
Residents were welcomed by Mr. Foger to discuss the election problems they
incurred.
Nevada Ombudsman Chavez Foger
discussing election problems with Residents
...and he was reported to be quite
attentive to their comments.
All reports of those who talked with
him indicated he was a fair man who promised to take the formal complaints very
seriously.
He specifically stated that if 2 additional signatures are determined to be valid, Sun City Anthem would be REQUIRED to hold a SEPARATE ELECTION for
Burch.
When Mr.
Foger was asked who would pay for that election, he stated either the
CPA, attorney, or the association....that they would have to work that out
amongst themselves.
Speaking of the attorney, for some
reason he was present ALL DAY during the official
count.
As to why and IF
he was paid his hourly fee, it's a fairly good assumption to make
that his hourly rate, which YOU AND I PAY FOR....would be applicable.
Association Attorney Adam
Clarkson
We were also made aware that security
guards were also employed...more expense...and...why ?
Another interesting
observation, considering General Manager Seddon specifically stated she was
compelled NOT TO HAVE ANY INVOLVEMENT while hiring a CPA firm due to the 836 "no
confidence petitions" she received, she too was
present.
Seddon &
Clarkson
As you can see, there are many answers
that must be determined before an "official book" is closed on this
matter.
So, to all of you...let's allow the
legal process to provide what a "machine" did its best to hinder
and destroy.

Consider this for a moment...there may be ulterior motives.
When owners sell their homes at SCA, a portion of money is held back from the sellers
to go into an account.
Could it be that this is an easy way to get additional funds from owners?
Sandy has alienated so many that the turnover of property generates more money.
That idea isn’t so far fetched....more sales means more money.
Sock it to the owners and wave bye bye and go to the bank.
It's hard to believe that close to 1,700 people were in favor of the manner in which Nona Tobin was removed or that they no longer want the Foundation Assisting Seniors to be located in Sun City Anthem.
A number of them (2,000+) voted to elect Nona a few months ago, and now 1,700 wanted her removed?
At any rate, that was the effect of how they voted, or should I say, that's the way "the machine" wanted them to vote.
Voting to retain the directors was a vote against both Nona and FAS.
My guess is that some of them are going to miss the Foundation's presence as well.
Oh well, "you reap what you sow".
What I am questioning is: The report (to me) was very extensive.
There is a website called http://transparentnevada.com/ Please, everyone, look at it. Why didn't the annual report give us any of this type of information? Are we not "entitled" to it? All I saw were "hardware items" and not the cost of doing business where I heard about the expenses (for example) as mentioned about "guards, etc." These miscellaneous costs can be both revealing and potentially show deceit.
Anthem Opinions stands by the comments regarding Mr. Foger's demand for the election documents as they will be an integral part of the numerous complaints officially filed against the Sun City Anthem Board and General Manager.
Whether or not he actually received the documents at the conclusion of the ballot counting was not confirmed, but HE WILL OBTAIN THEM.
The reporting of "alleged" complaints are not alleged, 42 were acknowledged by the Nevada Ombudsman to residents who attended the removal ballot count.
Just another play on words from a blogger who will stop at nothing to spin his continual web of corruptive influence on an innocent community that will bear the financial losses of those he and his cronies consistency have created and condone.
I suggest at this point, rather than persecute individuals, this community allow the LAW to take its course to make a proper determination of the FACTS.
