Liberty Center Emails to Property and Grounds Committee Disclosed

Despite unanswered pleas from Anthem Opinions to disclose FULL COSTS of any and all options for the Liberty Center bocce court location in order to make a fair determination as to what to do with the unfinished area, email results were announced as to community preferences of those who took the time to respond with their opinions.

Though one would think that Sun City Anthem is overwhelmingly supportive of a specific option after reading a distorted OPINION elsewhere, one only has to look at THE FULL NUMBERS in order to come to one glaring conclusion....

VERY FEW PEOPLE RESPONDED !

Let's look at the REAL MEANING of those emails, rather than continually being "brainwashed" into believing any particular option is a "must have".

There are 7,144 homes in this community; and of that total, only 246 people responded to the request of the Properties and Grounds Committees to hear opinions...and some of those 246 could have come from the same household.

That means that less than 3.5% of those owning homes in ANY WAY chose to respond at all !

AND

If over 700 petitioners signed to express a favorable attitude toward a particular project in which 141 expressed such support ....

Where were the other 550+ who did not send any comment to the committee ???

That's the way it SHOULD BE LOOKED AT when it comes to spending THOUSANDS OF YOUR DOLLARS...

THE TOTAL NUMBER OF HOMES WHO PAY FOR IT !

Here's the real meaning of those responses:

IN TERMS OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF HOMES....

Favorable Responses to Various Options

Mini-Golf    1.6%

Tennis   .4%

Croquet   .1%

Parking Lot    .1%

Shuffleboard   .1%

And...if you want to consider the TOTAL POPULATION, those percentages become even smaller !

Just what can you infer from all of this ????

It can mean only one of three things...

First

Not many people know anything about the various  proposals.

Second

Not many people CARE !

Third

Some may have realized..."There's No Such Thing as a Free Lunch"

The question then arises....

WHAT DO WE DO NOW ????

Do we spend  THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on ANY PROPOSAL ?

or

Should we step back for a moment and ASK THE PEOPLE in a manner in which they WILL BE BETTER INFORMED?

We did this when it came to a restaurant, so why not do it now ?

...only this time...act a bit differently....

Namely, listen to the FULL RESPONSE of the people...especially the money part ...

...not just...

 the "I wanna" part ! 

If common sense and respect for the people play any role in this decision....especially when one considers the $$$$$, the later should prevail.

BUT.... How do you really ask "the people"?

To better inform THE PEOPLE...THE PAYERS...and give them the choice to decide if ANY FUNDS SHOULD BE SPENT ON ANYTHING...

Send out a questionnaire TO ALL HOMEOWNERS asking them to state their preference, if any...

...but this time DISCLOSE THE FULL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH AND EVERY PROJECT...and I mean, FULL COSTS, not merely those to construct anything.

Simply and cost effectively....

...by placing the questionnaire in the board ballot packet that will be sent to EACH HOMEOWNER in the next few weeks ! 

It can be returned in the same envelope as the ballot being cast.

But...to make ANY DETERMINATION on ANYTHING at this point...to place this decision in either the hands of a small committee ...or a board that will be different in a matter of just a couple of months...

...is simply SENSELESS when it comes to the vast expenditure involved !

...and oh yes....

 I would also suggest adding one more option on that list which, when one considers it's been 7-8 years since anything at all has been done to that location, and no one seemed to care until recently...

DO NOTHING !
