Vic's Catering....OUCH !

Vic's Catering of Filipiania Event....A Disaster

Anthem Opinions received a critique from an attendee at the Filipiana Independence Day event recently celebrated at Anthem Center's Grand Ballroom on June 2nd.

Unfortunately, it appears that Vic's Catering was far from stellar in their performance during that event.

It has also been learned that a petition was commenced, that to date, 40+ residents have signed to protest this experience.

In the spirit of keeping our community informed, here are a number of comments from various club members who attended the event, which were quite disturbing as to the future of Vic's Catering:

1)  There was only one bartender serving drinks who had great difficulty counting back change with more than 25 people in line.

2)  There were only 9 servers to serve 320 guests. Servers were very unorganized, incompetent, and sloppily dressed.  Servers dropped two full trays of main entrees within five minutes.  It was obvious servers were unskilled and lacked proper training.

3)  Started serving salad at 6:00PM, our table was forgotten and last to receive salad at 6:45 (table 28).

4)  Requested dinner rolls with salad 4 times.

5)  Salad was very skimpy with only a few lettuce leaves, 2 slices of cucumber and one slice of tomato.

6)  Had to request water pitcher refill 5 times.

7)  Chicken was extremely small portioned over a small amount of sweet potato.  Pork Chop menu indicated two, but only received one.

8)  Several complained salmon was overcooked and did not taste fresh.

9)  It took 2-1/2 hours between serving salad and cake dessert.

10) Club members paid $40 for this event of which $30.00 went toward the food portion.  This is overpriced for the poor service and quantity/quality of food.

11) This was over a $9,600 income event for Vics...they failed badly.

Filipiana Club Communications Chairman, Josie Baker,  has asked those who attended that event to send her additional comments in order to correct these problems for any future functions.
Within that contents of that email, Ms. Baker states:

We are obligated to use the service of Vic's Catering for all catering needs at the Anthem Ballroom.  If there are things that need to be tweaked, the service providers and other people responsible must hear from us.
