Certain Derogatory Terms Have No Place in Sun City Anthem
What Has Become of Our Community?
Looking at Those in our Community Who Actually Condone Referring to Neighbors in Derogatory Terms
At a time of our lives when we are being faced by the many problems that exist due to a pandemic, the very thought of referring to any person who disagrees with you as a "jerk", is the sign of an individual devoid of any human feelings toward a fellow man...
But..doing it twice, in our opinion, makes you a MENACE to society, whose purpose in life...has none, other than adding to the misery of neighbors and friends.
First it was:
"I would love to name some of these jerks, but better to avoid a spitting contest. Spitting transmits viruses"
Then, following a CIVILIZED and POLITE rebuttal, by Anthem Opinions, this:
"They were jerks then, and they are jerks now, at least until they put their macho egos behind them and acknowledge that they misjudged the seriousness of the current pandemic."
and this...
"For this reason the jerks deserve, and will receive, no apology"
But of course, a blogger sets a standard by such commentary, and as a result of those who believe such comments are within the boundary of CIVILITY...
...there is an honor roll of those who seem to believe such comments merit attention; those whose life are of the same threshold, and those who seem to believe such discourse is worthy of value to the Sun City Anthem community and MUST BE AWARE OF in order to provide themselves with their "15 minutes of fame".
...and with that in mind, let's make a community aware of some of them and the "standards" each bring to the community:

Great article and certainly no apology needed.
“Jerk” is the worst word in my husband's vocabulary and I agree completely that they are jerks.
I do not understand their need for constant criticism of SCA management, particularly when management is making the right decisions.
Thanks for taking a stand on behalf of all of us.

2. Hopefully, I am in the silent majority that supports your “No Apologies” position regarding that “other blogger” and his group of irresponsible supporters.
There are those, like the “other blogger”, who will oppose the system (rules) simply because a system exists. Groups, organizations, cities, states and countries all exist because there are rules. Rules, laws, etc. exist to maintain the existence of the group, organization, etc.
We don’t always agree with decisions made by those tasked with conducting business on our behalf. But we support those decisions until they are proven to be incorrect, wrong, or unnecessary.
In the case of our association, I concur with the decisions being made. I imagine a like minded silent majority of individuals would agree.

We finally started making a community aware of "machine" antics in the 2019 election, but your choices over the past few years who have included Arthur Scheutz, David Weil, James Coleman, and Candace Karrow....
...have proven what we have told the community for years...
THEY, like you, WERE POLITICAL HACKS and part of a "machine" that need to be removed from the governance of our community.
You endorse incompetence, lack any sense of financial responsibility, and over the years, have done your best to favor individuals who have insulted residents, made foolish financial decisions, and have created an atmosphere through your disturbing behavior and twisted commentary that resembles a grocery store tabloid...
...even being named to the HOA Hall of Shame by Channel 13 reports on two separate occasions.
Why?
For one reason, your ego has an unnatural need to accomplish something in your retirement life that you were never able to achieve prior to that time...

... when it comes to referring to others as "jerks" because they disagree with you and have made an attempt to ask honest questions as to how their association is properly governed and managed, this time you have finally gone too far.
After reading your latest commentary, all I could imagine was a time in the past when during a congressional hearing, this question was asked of Senator Joseph McCarthy:

Since
the corona virus began, many, not merely a few, have expressed a
POLITE opinion where "choice" was preferable to "ordering"
a person how to live...
...but
we, as part of a CIVILIZED SOCIETY, never referred to
others who disagreed with the decision to close an entire community
in any derogatory term.
Instead
we respected their views, and hoped they would respect ours.
You obviously are incapable of doing do.
And
referring to those who dare disagree with your opinion as "jerks",
is just another outrageous action of a man who looks in the mirror
and considers himself the UN-ELECTED community "godfather"
of Sun City Anthem.
Rather, to most in the community, you are "the one who pokes his nose in every place it is never wanted".
All of us are concerned about the corona virus....ALL OF US...but there are others, many more than a mere few, who were very displeased at actions that were taken to CONTROL OUR LIVES in such a manner that will result in the chaos you and your "types" have created.

dollars of retirement funds have been lost to those of all age
groups, likely affecting the lives of senior citizens more so than
the younger members of our society.

"types" have forced working families with children to
readjust their entire lives as they search for answers as to how
their children will be educated and fed and supervised while all
schools will be closed.
Your
"types" have created an atmosphere where individuals are
storming grocery stores and hoarding anything that is not glued to a
shelf.

your "types" have killed the Las Vegas economy, and the
"goose that laid the golden egg" that has allowed your
"types" to enjoy a lifestyle all of us are now being forced to accept and adjust to "the new Vegas" that will be very different
than the one that once existed.

do you know how your "types" will pay for these actions ?
Our
"types"...
...the
ones who did everything to remain calm, be cautious, and use common
sense in determining their actions before drastic decisions were made
in order to AVOID the PANIC your "types"
created.
But... what your "types" cannot comprehend is that the panic you
and those "in charge" have fueled out of FEAR, will likely
create such chaos that the entire Las Vegas community will suffer for
months, if not years, to come.
That translates into MONEY..FINANCIAL DISASTER; funds that will have to come from us, the
taxpayer, due to the vast amount of revenue that will now
evaporate.
We
preferred a calm approach that did not close an entire world to
freedom of choice, and us "jerks" are not in any way
apologetic in any way because by doing so, none of the above would
have occurred.
It
appears that our state will now be "closed for business"
for at least a 30 day period, and if you believe that all will be well
following that period of time, you need a lesson in life.
That decision has now been made, and we must all now comply, no matter our views, but get ready for your worst nightmare that will long remain after this virus disappears.
What will that PANIC create?
Unemployment
lines will soar; people will lose their medical insurance benefits,
and with just about everything closed, people who once had OPTIMISTIC LIFE, will
now be faced with ECONOMIC DEATH.
Entertainers who are contractors, not employees, will not be able to obtain unemployment benefits and they will be forced to leave, killing many entertainment venues.
We cannot forget another aspect of this rash of fear.

When desperate people are faced with desperate decisions, they react
out of survival...

such desperate survival of many, often results in VIOLENCE toward persons who have what others have, to exist.
Gun shops have been emptied and ammunition for existing weapons are now in short supply. Who do you believe emptied those stores?

next?
Who knows, but if VIOLENCE becomes "the norm", as it has in the past when societies are repressed, you
will likely see a National Guard patrolling our city, despite what
the governor stated in his address that he could hardly read
without stumbling though its contents.
We live in a city that depends on gaming, and that source of revenue has now completely ceased to exist for at least 30 days.
It changes life as
we know it.
Just
remember, your "types", through your uncontrollable panic stricken reactions, as time passes will be every bit
as responsible for creating a problem that a virus initiated, while
our "types" pleaded to remain calm in the face of
uncertainty.
That's
not the America us "jerks" grew up in; that's the America
the likes of you need to appreciate and relish through well thought out decision making...
... the same life you now wish to STEAL by controlling the many aspects of a society conceived and dedicated to FREEDOM....
...which
in any dictionary, describes SOCIALISM.

Just think how much $$$ SCA would have lost IF they had forced-through a restaurant on us AND then have it closed down due to the Corona virus.

When the idea of closing the centers was first raised by management to the board, I was one who said, "no, not at this time, you are over reacting."
However, as the days have passed, the Governor, following suit of many other cities and states, has mandated all of these closures, knowing the devastating effect it will have on our city and population, I am looking at this differently.
I cannot help but think that the government knows much more about this virus than they are letting the population know.
NEVER before has such drastic action been taken, although we have seen pandemic like health crises before
We all have no choice now but to go with the decision and be open to helping those trade people somehow recover after the devastating loss of business.
"Throwing stones" at people who thought, and still think it is an over reaction is a total waste of humility and energy.
