Mini-Golf...a "Bogey" in the
Southwest
It appears the more we research the
recent numbers produced by the alternative "blogster's" mini-golf obsession, the
more we find his writings to be "slanted" in order to
"sell" it....
...distorting them in order to make his
case to a public who is now looking closer and closer as to his credibility with
each passing day.
A previous case he attempted was
stating the "vast" number of mini-golf courses that
exist across the country...
...a comparison which "conveniently" painted a picture of
acceptance.
We...on the other hand...did our
research in an area where weather conditions SHOULD HAVE A BEARING on any such
decision.
And so...we looked at the states of
Nevada and Arizona for
those homeowner associations who DID have such a
mini-golf course available to their residents.
...and the results were
obvious....
HOT
CLIMATES = FEW MINI-GOLF
COURSES
Let's be specific about those
numbers....in those two states.
Below we have
summarized:
1. The names
of the communities.
2. The total
number of homes in that community.
3. The
number of regular golf courses within that
commmunity.
4. The
number of mini-golf courses within that community.

So...how do these numbers "shake out" in terms of a REALITY CHECK ?
Combining two states....Nevada and Arizona, perhaps two of the most common "retirement" destinations of seniors other than Florida, it is obvious that seniors LOVE TO PLAY GOLF, having a total of 67 courses...
But...when it comes
to "mini-golf".....
THAT AIN'T THE CASE
!
Only 8 exist (4 in the same community originally built in the 1970s)...
...serving approximately 166,000 homes that include over 300,000 people.
...serving approximately 166,000 homes that include over 300,000 people.
Our take...
Mini-Golf...is a BOGEY
!
