Well, all this boils down to not cleaning house when the opportunity arose. In my opinion, NONE of these past board members should have been elected again.
As they say, we reap what we sow. So, hopefully we can turn this around at the next election. And hopefully this board won't bankrupt our association.
Dick, you certainly know how to make my blood boil.
So my questions is, what kind of impeachment laws do we have?
I'll leave it at that. - Dorothy,ReplyDelete
The impeachment laws changed substantially a few years ago. PRIOR to the change, you would first need 10% of the voting membership to sign a petition (714 homeowners). Then once that was completed, a formal ballot would be sent to the members and a SIMPLE majority would be sufficient to REMOVE a board member.
Now...as a result of what I will refer to as CORRUPT LEGISLATORS and their PACs, you must first obtain the 714 people to get the ballot started, but NOW A MAJORITY of the entire membership would have to vote to impeach...in our case, 3,573 residents.
Past board elections usually have around 2,000 voters, so you can see that this is a literal impossibility.
It's JOB SECURITY through CORRUPT LEGISLATION...introduced and sponsored by DISGUSTING LAWYERS...who PROTECT THOSE who create the damage.
The only lesson that can be learned is simply....LOOK CLOSELY AT THOSE YOU CHOOSE, avoiding recommendations made by CERTAIN BLOGGERS, CLUBS who are dominated with CRONIES who insist on the status quo, and the worst....not taking a few moments to attend a session or two, instead asking you neighbors who you should vote for.
As you so eloquently stated, you reap what you sow...and we have sown seeds that have brought us the most incompetent of individuals in many cases over the years. - From Jeanie Kessler...to...Anthem OpinionsReplyDelete
Worse thing you they could have done putting the foolish woman on the team instead.
As Cafe V goes, worst food ever.
You could have put a restaurant in with good food and fair pricing and gaming.
You see all these people that live here gambling at other places.
The money could of stayed here. - From Dorothy Yu...to...Anthem OpinionsReplyDelete
Dear Dick:
Thanks for this latest information, I am sending this to my friends!
I always liked Carl and his standing up for what he believes as to how our HOA is supposed to be run.
It amazes me!
Plus he lost his wife and his concentrating his devotion to Sun City Anthem's well being!!!
NO, NO, NO!!! He can not be out from our transition team by our board!!!
Is there anything I can do to change this? - Dorothy,
You and the entire community can do three things.
One...BARRAGE the members of the board of directors with emails expressing your displeasure and outrage.
Two.... tell your friends to do so as well.
Three....REMEMBER those who do such despicable things if they should run for reelection.
We can change this community's leadership by NEVER FORGETTING such actions, and making each and every person you meet, aware of them.
Over the past few months, II believe we've witnessed a new spirit of concern in Sun City Anthem never before seen in the ten years I have lived here.
People are questioning, rather than merely accepting, words that result in EMPTY promises again and again.
They seem to be tired of the STATUS QUO...they look at community sponsored news (and certain other community blogs) as UNRELIABLE....and...BIASED... in such a way as to justify MEDIOCRITY...
...when they should be ENTITLED to EXCELLENCE.
Hopefully we at Anthem Opinions are doing our part in telling the FULL TRUTH, rather than only "selected" portions of it...in order to expose and condemn the secretive status quo that has brought us that lack of trust that now exists in our leadership.
It is imperative we BUILD that atmosphere of TRUST in order that NEW BLOOD, those who have recently joined our community, have a desire to represent their constituents and run for board positions NOW and in the FUTURE.
Without their participation, we DIE as a community.
Other communities have 10-15 people running during their Board Director elections, yet Sun City Anthem has but a few.
And that is an INDICTMENT on THE SYSTEM we have allowed to evolve over the years.
Hopefully our publication in some modest manner, has shown itself to recognize wrongs and those who insist on creating and implementing them.
You cannot correct a problem unless it is first identified...and what party or parties were responsible for creating it.
We have grown to such an extent that we now reach between 1,400 and 1,500 SEPARATE COMPUTERS EACH AND EVERY DAY....a mark that exceeds other community publications 5 times their daily readership.
As a result, we would like to believe that dramatic increase is due to finding us trustworthy, a responsibility we do not take lightly.
Simply stated, we have NO AGENDA and NO DESIRE FOR ANY FORM OF POWER.
Our mission is merely to create a caring and trusting atmosphere in a community we call HOME, where secrecy is unnecessary...if you tell the TRUTH...allowing PEOPLE to practice the "golden rule".
We believe...with the right people at the helm...with the right attitude of "do onto others as you would have them do unto you"...
... it can improve with each passing day.
Dick,
Another well written article by you pointing out how our SCA BOD continues to poorly operate...
I had written my opinion after reading Rana's post on Anthem Today regarding Carl.
I thought this my be appropriate to post on your site to show how other concerned residents think the same.

Does Carl getting bounced from the transition team bring back memories...
Bob Frank, when on the board, was alienated because he spoke out against wrong doing. Later falsely arrested only to find out his allegations of the boards wrong doing was substantiated by the IRS and Henderson PD dropped the charges.
Resident Norm McCullough being charged, tried, convicted and fined $500 during a open meeting on charges that did not exist in the CC&Rs.
Jim Mayfield appears to be alienated because of his outspokenness pointing out flaws in the system.
Now Carl because he has not turned out to be another bobble-head to "go along to get along."
I thought there was hope for improvement with this seated board...NOPE!
I am once again dissatisfied with current board members that I supported thinking they would do the right thing.
Look at the make up of the board...how many have ever had the opportunity to run a business or even ask anyone with business knowledge for help...SCA is on a $9,000,000 business and we have a bunch of amateurs in control.
And those folks are going to self management...Yahoo...this should be interesting.
EXCELLENT ARTICLE in this morning’s blog.
You tell it like it REALLY is, and I commend you for shining the light on the evidence of wrong doing. It’s about time everyone living her knows what the true facts are on our governance!
Thank you.
