The Story of an Unsung Hero...Part One

On Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 the baseball world will celebrate its 85th All-Star game in Minneapolis as the best of the National and American Leagues meet to determine "bragging rights", as well as, receiving home field advantage in the 2014 World Series.

Combine that celebration with the 69th anniversary of the end of World War II on August 14, 1945....V-J Day...

....and we have a two part story that looks at a man who not only professionally played the national pastime, but answered his nation's call in World War II....a hero few are aware of, a man whose story needs to be told....and how his efforts were invaluable to the Allies in their victory.

We Get Letters !

Anthem Opinions knows that without YOU...our readers...

We don't exist !

We often receive emails...

and

We read every single one of them !

Most people are unaware that our readership goes far beyond the walls of Sun City Anthem and the local Las Vegas valley.

Actually it ranges from as far east as New York, New Jersey,  and  North Carolina down to Florida, up through the Midwest passing Illinois and Wisconsin, south from Alabama through Texas  and Arizona, and up the west coast as far as northern California and Washington.

We even have a reader in the United Kingdom who visits us daily. She loves our "Garden Wizard" suggestions.

We never anticipated this when we organized this publication, but somehow those not a part of our local area look to us for Entertainment venues when they arrive for a vacation, and we often get kudos for the "History and Holidays" information page.

And to all of you not a part of our local Las Vegas community, we are so grateful for your patronage.

Occasionally we are asked to include articles that readers believe would be of interest to others...

and...

This is one of those days...from North Carolina.

Did you Know....2014 ?

It's a video presentation that lasts 7 minutes and 38 seconds; and after viewing it, it brought so many things in proper perspective....namely...

How Much Our World Has Changed...to a Global Society

...in such a short period of time !

We hope you enjoy it and will find is as fascinating as we did.
