On Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 the
baseball world will celebrate its 85th All-Star game in Minneapolis as the best
of the National and American Leagues meet to determine "bragging rights", as
well as, receiving home field advantage in the 2014 World
Series.
Combine that celebration with
the 69th anniversary of the end of World War II on August 14, 1945....V-J Day...
....and we have a two part story
that looks at a man who not only professionally played the national pastime, but answered his nation's call in World War II....a hero few
are aware of, a man whose story needs to be told....and how his efforts were
invaluable to the Allies in their
victory.
