I'm assuming we're also paying for some benefits?

    Usually 15 - 20% of that salary?

  2. Victor,

To sadly answer your question, that appears to be the case.

He is also receiving a reimbursed mileage allowance that in 2018, was $.545 per mile and in 2019 due to IRS regulations, has been increased to $.58 per mile.

During the election campaign period Anthem Opinions has plans to publish an employee "benefit" article that will "knock your socks off" when you see the benefit structure that is currently in place for Sun City Anthem employees.

We believe all SCA employees should have a benefit package that must be designed to attract and retain quality workmanship, but those benefits must be commensurate with others available in the marketplace.

Those of us that had been in the private sector and self-employed know full well that providing such benefits are a cost of doing business, combined with applying the basics of economic affordability.

They should be patterned on those currently available in the marketplace coupled with spending association assets in an affordable manner.

The greatest percentage of residents in Sun City Anthem have no idea as to their cost to property owners due to the likelihood that they were never confronted with paying them due to having been employed in the private sector by a generous employer and/or government service.

The New Tradition Team is composed of 4 individuals who have been self-employed, experiencing these costs in their business planning and 1 individual highly experienced in property management who knows the value of getting "bang for your buck".

That clearly separates them from the rest of the candidate pack.

Of the other candidate flyers we have examined, coupled with the two incumbents running for reelection, NONE have ever been self-employed or have much "every day knowledge" of such matters.

Since we are now an independent organization that must pay those costs, it would stand to reason, that individuals who govern us, should be aware of such factors and have the experience in dealing with them.

The New Tradition Team has that experience, but they freely admit they "don't know everything there is to know" unlike those current on our Board who all to often "wing it" rather than seek advice on topics in which that are not familiar.

One of their major bullet points include:

"Utilize community expertise through creation of resident advisory oversight Groups."

And that desire to obtain relevant information on vital matters from those in the community, is far different than what is now being experienced.

Let's never forget we are a community...one for all and all for one...and if a resident received a telephone call from a Board member asking that individual if they could spare an hour of their time to add their experience to an issue prior to a decision, who wouldn't be honored to receive such a call?

And wouldn't the actual decision have more credence ?

That should be the definition of the word "community"...

...and that is what The New Tradition Team is all about !
