It's Common Sense

Sun City Anthem Property & Grounds Committee Needs to Publish Full Costs of ALL Proposals Prior to Asking for Community Input

As many of you are aware, Sun City Anthem is making a determination as to what to do with the uncompleted Bocce courts located at Liberty Center.

A number of weeks ago, a Properties and Grounds Committee met and individuals in our community submitted various ideas as to what to do with that uncompleted area.

If you receive Sun City Anthem email bulletins, you recently received this notice:

Message from the Properties and Grounds Committee

This is an opportunity to express your feelings as to the various proposals.

Unfortunately, in our view this might have had a greater impact on the community...namely member comments....

 ..
...if the FULL COSTS OF EACH ALTERNATIVE would have been disclosed as part of their bulletin in which they desired community input.

Sadly, IT DID NOT.

Though the intent was admirable, the results in our view will be tainted due to the lack of information that should have been provided in order to gain support for any specific proposal.

Other than emotional desires of a particular option, there is one criterion that must, for the sake of FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY, override others.

And...I am specifically going to the root of the issue as it affects our financial stability, namely...

FULL DISCLOSURE OF ALL COSTS FOR EACH PROPOSAL.

Those costs not only include the building of the project, but also...

1. Demolition Expenses

2. Landscaping Installation Expenses

3. Additional Insurance Coverages required to protect our community against liability issues that will in all likelihood, arise.

4. Continuing maintenance expenses

In our view, a PROPER and RATIONAL decision can only be based on PROPER and RATIONAL input...

...And PROPER and RATIONAL input...

... should include a FULL COST DISCLOSURE.

As an example, if you were asked....

Would you like a Lamborghini ?

My guess is that there are few who wouldn't answer "yes".

However, the COST would certainly have an effect on your eventual decision, wouldn't it?

So...if you do respond to any of the proposals, we suggest that you include a DEMAND TO KNOW THE FULL COST...

... and request this committee to PUBLISH IN DETAIL THOSE COSTS in order for all to provide them PROPER and RATIONAL input in order to properly determine which option should be chosen.

It's the right thing to do !
