Another Community Change ? Is it Good News or Bad ?

No More First Come First Serve
for Sun City Anthem Club Events

Remember the "old rules" that stated if a club had an official function, Anthem space could be reserved on a first come / first serve basis?

That's all over !

Now...it's COMPLETELY UP  to the Activities Department to determine WHEN any such activity may be scheduled.

We obtained this email from a Club President describing the change:
Subject: 2019 Reservations
Good Morning,

Just touching bases with you to remind you that we will start taking the 2019 reservations beginning June 1 through August 1.  

Scheduling is NOT done on a first come first so there is no reason to stay up waiting to be the first one.  

 Confirmations will not go out until everything is complete and I expect that to be done sometime around October, November 1 at the very latest.

I have attached Appendix E for you to use, everything is fillable on this form.  If you choose to submit a word doc or excel form with all the information, this is acceptable too.  We know not all clubs have the same needs and we are flexible with ours.

Below are a few things to remember when you submit your requests.
  • Any and all forms that are submitted should be typed.  It can be difficult to read unless you have very clear hand writing.
  • Please be mindful when submitting to make sure that you list at least three date choices whenever possible in case we can’t give you your first choice.
  • List specific dates when it comes to meetings please.  Second Tuesday and Third Wednesday will not work.
  • Game & Card groups that play on a weekly basis should refer to the top of the second page of the Appendix E form and choose your location/days and times.  We will also accept a separate request form such as a word doc or excel for your requests.

Thus far, this latest "rule" has apparently created chaos...

...especially due to one prominent Club's scheduled function that was ABRUPTLY CANCELLED  approximately ONE MONTH before it was to occur and subsequently rescheduled at a future date that was found to be INCONVENIENT for planning and attendance purposes....

...and awarded to another Club that was founded a short time ago...

...for rehearsals...and a three day series of productions.

Was FAVORITISM shown?

That appears to be the case, and was an INSULT to the original Club in our opinion.

The question remains as to WHY one Club was "dumped" in favor of another?

We've learned that other clubs have also suffered as a result of this newest dictum.

What does it all mean?

Apparently, "life as we knew it, no longer exists" in Sun City Anthem.

Has this happened to any other Clubs?  

We'd like to know in order that our community can be informed.

    MAYBE the next step will be to charge a "processing fee" for each typewritten request submitted...…..no one should say "that's impossible" - not with this bunch running the show.

    Who would have thought our dues would be used to pay HOA employees to do a job that our VOLUNTEER Community Patrol would do for free (e.g. at the Parking Lot Sales)?
